What people are saying about us
They provided services to me that were essential to my success in searching for a college. They provided organization and guidance, which made the stressful and chaotic college process less daunting. I’m extremely happy with my choice and the path that I am on, and especially thankful for HelloCollege getting me here.
What parents are saying
We felt comfortable with selecting choices when it was time for our triplets to begin their search. However, with 3 going at once we felt we needed help through the application process. That's when we decided to turn to PFA. While everyone is different, the areas we got the most value from were (i) essays, (ii) test prep and (iii) staying organized and on schedule. Our counselor was always available and communication was frequent, both via email and in person. Other resources were invaluable, such as having our students take practice tests at their facility, all the essay reviews and revisions, and the multitude of workshops our students took advantage of (e.g. resume construction, setting up a LinkedIn account to name just two). Next up is our high school junior. With just one on this go around the task at hand seems far less daunting. However, given our experience with the first 3 we are continuing to rely on PFA to assist us through the process once again. By the way, the triplets all got into their top choice for schools (2 at The University of Chicago, one at the Honors College at Purdue University - Engineering).
The college planning and application process can be (is) overwhelming. Working with PFA to ensure that every step of the process was completed correctly and on time really lowered anxiety between my wife and I and our daughter. They are confident and knowledgeable counselors.
We hired PFA to work with our daughter Bridget. The staff was instrumental in guiding us through the rigorous college search process. Bridget had little free time in high school and the PFA team structured her program to get as much done in the summer as possible. It was a huge relief for her to have that professional help and they streamlined so much for her and us. They mapped out a plan that had realistic milestones. As a parent the support PFA provided likely saved the relationship we have with our daughter, so that we were not the ones hounding her - she had to be accountable to PFA and she was good with that. My one regret is that we didn't start our relationship sooner! PFA has an incredible staff and support team. Bridget applied to 10 schools and received numerous merit scholarships. She selected University of Wisconsin Madison and will be starting her second year there and LOVES IT!
Parents and students talk about How we help
I would not have known what to do or when to complete all of the different aspects of applying to college. The program helped me find seven scholarships, kept me accountable and is a push in the right direction.
Utilizing their services alleviated a lot of stressful conversations with our daughter about deadlines and keeping on task. The skill set she acquired during the process from interviewing skills to professional prep will be key in the years to come...Their program was worth every penny spent!
One of the key benefits for both the parents and the student is the structured approach to the entire process from selecting schools to preparing for the standardized tests to writing essays and everything in between. It took the pressure off to just know that there was a plan of attack. The process helped build her confidence as well as she was ultimately making the decisions that will impact her life in the future.
This program successfully guided our family through the competitive college application process and provided superb resources at every step to help our son get into Duke University.
On your own applying to college can be tough. It was beneficial for someone like me who is a procrastinator to get direction on my essays and applications and help me stay organized.
