Divya grew up in the Chicago suburbs, raised by a single mother, who taught her to work hard, enjoy the good days, and persevere through the tough days. With her mother’s support, she completed her civil engineering degree at Cornell University. After that, she moved to Denver where she worked on various engineering projects, such as airports, water treatment plants, sidewalks, and railroads. She is passionate about sustainability and encouraging those around her to make more eco-friendly choices. Now, is pursuing a Master’s of Science in the Design, Construction, and Management of the Built Environment.
Outside of her career, Divya is multi-interested; She has more hobbies than she can count. She loves finding ways to spend time outside and in nature, whether that is by scuba diving, hiking, skiing, running, or tossing a frisbee around with friends. In the summer, she spends time harvesting fruit from her mother’s fruit trees and sharing them with all her friends and neighbors. Through this, she has developed a love for gardening, which is something she shares with her mother. She also loves singing and dancing, both of which she has done from her early childhood years. Finally, makes it her goal to find joy in the little things, whether that is a hearty meal, a good book, or the NY Times Crossword.
