Profile

Brigid Johnson has extensive experience in higher education and advising high school students on college admissions. She tutored students in history, Latin, and mythology while earning her  bachelor’s degree at the University of Iowa, served as a teaching and research assistant at Tufts University where she received her masters, taught numerous disciplines (history, philosophy, English composition, humanities, and literature) at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, CO, and most recently worked as a TRiO Specialist and English composition instructor at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. Brigid had her own admissions consulting firm for years but missed engaging with other professionals and working on a team. Through all these experiences, one constant has remained—Brigid is passionate about helping students succeed. During graduate and undergraduate studies, Brigid studied abroad in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, and Germany, including the Summer Classical School at the American Academy in Rome. She is an award winning scholar, including the University of Iowa’s Dean’s Achievement Award and Tufts University’s Sarah Plummer Memorial Prize. She loves to share her experiences and knowledge with others. In her free time, Brigid usually swims, bikes, or runs. Over the summer, she competes in triathlons, 5Ks, and bike races, and coaches kids’ learn-to-ride camps. She loves to spend time with her husband, Ben, and daughter, Catie, read historical fiction, travel, and hang out with friends. Brigid also has three, furry children (cats): Hercules, Pandora, and Medusa.
