Shaun is a passionate educator and counselor with over 15 years of experience in teaching, school counseling, college counseling, and college admissions, including serving as a BS/MD application reader. His students have earned admission to highly selective institutions including Princeton, Cornell, UNC Chapel Hill, NYU, the University of Michigan, Boston University, and Johns Hopkins.

As an application reader for highly selective BS/MD programs, Shaun gained firsthand insight into what admissions committees look for in applicants to the nation’s most competitive medical pathways. He also has extensive knowledge of competitive engineering universities, their programs, and the academic and career outcomes they offer. He understands what top engineering programs look for in applicants and helps students develop and demonstrate their specific fit for each program.
Shaun also brings extensive experience counseling high school students and families. His approach is informed by a professional framework intended to support the whole student, ensuring every family receives the same level of care and support, both academically and socio-emotionally. He’s especially proud of his work with First Generation scholars programs, supporting students in honoring their academic goals while meeting their financial needs.
Beyond traditional advising, Shaun is particularly interested in the intersection of digital technology with youth development and advising, bringing a balanced and healthy approach to modern student advocacy. He has years of experience in managing complex educational operations, from data-driven progress monitoring and decision-making to fostering meaningful and long-lasting relationships within diverse communities. He continues to bridge the gap between empathy and structure, and is passionate about providing students with the clarity and confidence they need for success in education and beyond.
