Gerene Keesler, MS, is a dedicated higher education professional with over a decade of experience in counseling, career counseling, and academic coaching. Her work centers on supporting students and families through critical academic and career transitions, with a particular focus on college success for the neurodivergent student, holistic development, and equitable outcomes. Recently, she has served as a College counselor for PrepU, which is a partner with ADEK. Here, she provided individualized guidance to students on selecting suitable universities and majors based on aptitude, interests, and academic performance. Additional tasks included assisting students with university applications, personal statements, essays, and interview preparation.
She has served as an Assistant Site Director for Troy University’s Tampa site where she played a key role in supporting large-scale program operations. She managed graduate admissions, financial aid, and 400 student records while ensuring a high level of student satisfaction measurable outcomes for students. Her approach integrates empathy with structure, balancing emotional support with strategic planning to help students achieve their goals.
