Academic and Test Prep Tutor
A reader of six languages with a background spanning Chemical Engineering, Classics, Religious Studies, and music, Sri loves helping others unlock their curiosity. He brings experience teaching and tutoring learners of all ages.
Sri is pretty much always fascinated: by books, by art, by languages, and, most of all, by humankind’s innate capacity to learn.
Sri sought in college to combine his curiosity for languages with his love for mathematics and the physical sciences. He graduated from Brown with a double-major in Chemical Engineering and Classics and took a leap of faith into the field of Religious Studies. Sri graduated this spring with an MA from the University of Chicago and will soon begin his PhD in South Asian Religions at the University of Toronto.
A lifelong violinist in the highly improvisational South Indian “Carnatic” style of music, Sri has been performing across the US and India since 2015. His love for writing poetry and fiction developed more recently; his work, published in a few literary journals, has been nominated for Best of the Net.
Through his academic and creative pursuits, Sri has learned that he thrives best on the stage and the page, guiding others (and himself) through explorations of new ideas, themes, and experiences. For Sri, teaching is the perfect combination of research, composition, performance, and human connection, and he seeks to hone his pedagogy with the goal of one day becoming a professor.
To unwind, Sri follows the WNBA (go Tempo!) and NBA (go Celtics!), completes the New York Times crossword, dresses colorfully, and attends the Symphony.
