Profile

Stephanie has spent more than 15 years helping students of all interests build compelling college applications, with a particular specialty in STEM. She holds a Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Biology from Marist University, and has previously worked in science education as a private tutor.

Stephanie works with students across all majors and interests, and she specializes in guiding STEM-minded students toward top research universities. She helps students build an application around what genuinely excites them, whether that is a research question, a self-started project, or a long-term commitment to a club or community project. Her students have been admitted to highly selective schools, including Cornell, Duke, and UCLA, and she has helped students pursue research internships and graduate programs. Stephanie believes the strongest applications are built over time, and she works with students early to turn their interests into experiences they can genuinely speak about.

Her approach is highly individualized. Her counseling work covers school selection, course planning, and admissions strategy, and she has worked with students who have learning differences such as ADHD, and with students locally and abroad, including in Ireland and Thailand. She learns how each student works best, adapts accordingly, and keeps families closely informed at every step.

Before focusing on counseling, Stephanie worked as a professional science writer and journalist, and she enjoys sharing science with both specialist and general audiences.
