Asma Wazir

Asma recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Biology. Over the past 3 years, Asma has worked with elementary, middle, and high school students on all subjects and has helped students prepare for standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, and PSAT.

Asma was born in Michigan and moved to Chicago when she was 2 years old, where she currently lives with her parents and 4 siblings. In high school, Asma was a part of the tennis team; she also worked as a tutor and intern, where she discovered her passion for healthcare. Along with being a full-time student at UIC, Asma also worked as a research assistant at UIC’s College of Dentistry, a dental assistant, and medical assistant. She has found many similarities between teaching and healthcare, and her favorite part about working in a clinic is creating meaningful relationships with her patients. In her free time, Asma loves spending time with her siblings, going on road trips, and playing sports. She has played tennis since she was 4 years old, and now also plays volleyball and pickleball.

Asma loves teaching and creating friendships with her students; she hopes to help her students achieve their academic goals and also share the study strategies she has learned as a student. Asma tailors each tutoring session to her student’s needs, whether that means creating unique lesson plans to learn a difficult concept or reviewing weeks worth of material to prepare for an exam. She also loves talking to students about their career goals and brainstorming paths they can take to achieve them. Asma believes that with dedication, discipline, and a positive attitude, any student can achieve what they set their mind to!
