With a DMA in Music Composition, Cody brings experience as an adjunct professor and higher ed administrator. A lifelong learner and dedicated advocate, he’s committed to helping students find their best path—while also being a proud dog dad.
Cody is an educator, composer, and student advocate with a passion for helping others find their best path. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from Syracuse University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the New England Conservatory. His career in higher education spans both teaching and administration, where he brings a deep commitment to student success.
As an adjunct professor, Cody has taught a wide range of courses, from contemporary classical composition lessons to music theory, music history, and 16th-century counterpoint. His teaching philosophy centers on fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and creative exploration, helping students connect their studies to their broader aspirations. Beyond the classroom, he is a dedicated advocate for students, guiding them through academic and career decisions with empathy and insight.
A lifelong learner himself, education has always been a priority for Cody. His pursuit of knowledge extends beyond music into project management, grant writing, community outreach, and leadership—skills that allow him to support students in meaningful ways. His passion for narratives that build empathy and communicate the depth of human experience informs both his work as a composer and his approach to teaching and mentorship.
Outside of his professional life, Cody is a proud dog dad who enjoys exploring recipes in the kitchen, discovering new music, and fostering connections between people. He remains committed to helping students navigate the complexities of college planning, ensuring they find the right academic and career paths while minimizing debt and maximizing opportunities.
