Essay Coach
Joëlle Santiago is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, and an adjunct professor at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She has four years of experience as an Essay Coach.
Joëlle Santiago is a passionate educator, coming from a background in the arts. She prioritizes developing relationships with her students that are built upon trust, communication, and goal-setting. She is currently an Essay Coach at Hello College, and an adjunct professor at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Joëlle graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in 2020. Joelle responded to increasing inequities in the New York public education system by founding a volunteer based tutoring organization, connecting recent alumni with K-12 students in need of extra support with online learning.
This experience sparked her interest in tutoring. Since then, she has coached college essay writing and tutored SAT, ACT, and AP subject tests for four years, volunteering in New York City public schools, and working privately with international education organizations.
A lifelong dancer, Joëlle performs, choreographs and teaches internationally. In 2023 she was awarded a Fulbright Grant to study in Paris, where she worked on a film project with a group of dancers with Parkinson’s Disease. Joëlle is a passionate language learner, and possesses intermediate proficiency in French and Spanish.
Joëlle is passionate about disability access, and strives to create inclusive environments for her students and colleagues. She is currently based in New York and Paris.
