Kristen Stephenson

Kristen Stephenson joins HelloCollege with nearly 20 years of experience in education across three states. She earned her B.S. in Secondary English Education from Florida State University and taught English for ten years in public schools before completing her M.A. in Counseling with a School Counseling specialty from Wake Forest University. Kristen then served as a comprehensive high school counselor at a charter school and later as a college advisor in a private high school with a large international boarding population.

In addition to counseling, Kristen has tutored writing, reading, study skills, and SAT/ACT prep, and served as AP, SAT, and ACT testing coordinator. Her students have earned admission to highly selective universities, including Harvard, Rice, Duke, Georgetown, Cornell, Vanderbilt, NYU, UIUC, Purdue, UC Irvine, and University of Florida.

A lifelong reader and writer, Kristen excels at helping students craft their narrative and find their best-fit schools. She is currently pursuing her own MFA in Creative Writing and has visited over 35 college campuses across the U.S. When not counseling or writing, Kristen enjoys cheering on her hometown Buffalo Bills, spending time at the beach or in the mountains, curling up with a good book and her cat, and never being without a cup of coffee.
