Lauren Fogg

Lauren knew in high school that she wanted to teach others. She also loved math and science subjects the most. One of her high school teachers
pushed her to go into Engineering. Upon sitting in her first few Engineering courses in college, she knew that she wanted to be an engineer. She also
wanted to go into a field where she could also help educate others on the subjects she loved. Lauren has a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering along with a minor in Secondary Education from Louisiana Tech University. During her undergraduate time, she realized she wanted to continue pursing her
studies. Combining her passion for Engineering and passion for Education, she obtained her PhD in Engineering with a concentration in Engineering Education. She has gotten the opportunity to teach Engineering classes at the college level including Materials Science and Fluid Mechanics. She also has published research works and contains to contact research to help future engineering students. She has conducted research across many topics including Project-Based Learning, students’ self-efficacy, accessibility of textbooks, gender equity, underrepresented students in STEM, and the use of AI in engineering classrooms. Overall, she enjoys making an impact on others through teaching and her research. She also enjoys being a role model to future females wanting to be an Engineer. She looks forward to making an impact on many more students to come here at HelloCollege.
