Maycee Roshel

Maycee Roshel grew up in a small town in central Illinois. She completed her bachelor’s degree in English Education and is completing the last year of her master’s in the spring of 2027 (Yay!). While she is grateful for her rural upbringing, she loved expanding her horizons throughout her undergraduate studies, master’s program, and multiple study abroad experiences.

When she’s not cramming in hours of reading for her master’s or working on her thesis, you can find Maycee enjoying everything Colorado has to offer; she is very outdoorsy and loves hiking, snowboarding, concerts, and a good picnic! In the winter months it is rare to see her without a book or crochet project in hand!

Maycee is a highly capable teacher, having worked with a variety of students, and her time management skills are one of her greatest strengths! While an undergraduate, she completed over two years of field work observing middle school and high school English classrooms. While student teaching in her last semester at Indiana State University, she taught and organized lessons for five different high school classes. Currently, at the University of Colorado, she is a teaching assistant overseeing and teaching 50+ students each semester.

As an Essay Coach, Maycee believes passionately that every student has a story to tell! Having herself received two full academic scholarships, she enjoys passing on her knowledge of admissions committees and professionalism to her students. The academic spaces she curates are very student-centered and reflective—collaborative environments that maintain students’ unique voices and prepare them for success in the next steps of their academic journeys.
