Muhammed Alsafi

Born and raised in Detroit—the Motor City—to refugee parents who built a new life here, I developed an early fascination with automotive mechanics and mathematics. Growing up surrounded by the heart of America's car industry shaped my path in profound ways. My natural aptitude for problem-solving led me to pursue a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, but my education truly began with hands-on experience. Starting as a prototype mechanic, I learned how theoretical concepts translate to practical applications—a perspective that continues to guide my approach to engineering challenges. My career has taken me across the globe testing performance vehicles in diverse environments, giving me the opportunity to push automotive technology to its limits. These experiences have been invaluable as I've progressed in the industry. Today, I’m focused on developing electric and hybrid solutions that will define the future of transportation. This work combines my lifelong passion for automotive innovation with the urgent need for sustainable mobility solutions. When I’m not engrossed in engineering projects, you'll find me by a lake with a fishing rod, enjoying the peace of the outdoors. At home, my cat Pistachio provides companionship and the occasional reminder to take breaks from intense problem-solving. I believe that understanding how things work—whether it’s a car engine or an electrical circuit—opens doors to innovation and progress. This curiosity continues to drive me forward in both my professional endeavors and personal interests.
