College Visit Checklist

Get Ready For Your College Visit With This College Visit Checklist

College visits are one of the most exciting parts of figuring out which school will be the best fit for you.

With so many different options and so much to explore it can be overwhelming to plan your trip, especially when there's so much to do and so many questions to ask. Here’s a checklist to help.

Decide if the College is a Good Fit

To decide if the college is a good fit, there are some things that you will want to do once you arrive on campus.

Talk to students on campus

Don’t be afraid to go up to them and ask how their experience has been. Current students often have the best insight into on-campus culture and what classes are really like.

Stop by the bookstore

See whether you’ll have everything you need for your classes or if you’ll have to order most of your books and supplies online.

Spend some time at the quad during a normal school day

See what campus is like during “rush hour” and take the opportunity to meet a few students too.

Check out the dining halls

You’ll want to see for yourself what the dining facilities are really like, as well as the options you’ll have available to you once you’re enrolled.

Ask for a tour of the dorms

While freshman dorms are pretty basic you’ll want to see where you’ll be spending the majority of your time when you’re not in class or hanging out with friends.
