Early Action is a non-binding admission, and students admitted Early Action or Regular Decision are not required to enroll at Spelman unless they choose to.
Does Spelman College offer an honors program?
Yes, the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program was created for any student who has excelled academically in high school or during her first year at Spelman.
Any student who applies Early Action or Early Decision will be invited to apply for the honors program. For current Spelman students, once you have completed 32 credit hours and have earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, you can also apply for admission.
Does Spelman offer financial aid?

From my perspective, Spelman College is the best HBCU for women in our country. I know that’s a strong stance, but it is based upon admissions data, graduation rates, and alumna network. I’ve worked with young ladies who were admitted and chose Spelman as their undergraduate destination, and the pride with which they spoke of their school poured out of them. I get it, everyone loves their alma mater, but how they lit up when discussing Spelman was something I’ve not experienced often in my 25+ years of guiding students.
